Tokyo — Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the release of Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0 for Capture NX 2*, available via download from the internet. Developed by Nik Software, Inc., which specializes in software-related products, this new plug-in application is compatible with Nikon’s Capture NX 2 image-editing software, and allows you to perform versatile, professional-level filtering procedures on your computer. Using Selection Control Points, which enable intutive, quick-and-easy image enhancements, filters can be applied to specific areas, in order to get the exact results you desire.

Tight integration with Capture NX 2 workflow
Color Efex Pro 3.0, the most comprehensive, powerful, and easy-to-use set of photographic filters used by photo enthusiasts and professional photographers worldwide, is optimized for and tightly integrated with the powerful tools and efficient workflow of Capture NX 2. Unlike other software, with plug-ins that require controls located in a separate interface, Capture NX 2 adjustments are made directly on the image in real time. This seamless integration dramatically simplifies image enhancements and provides photographers with a powerful photo-editing solution.

Selection Control Points maximize the effect precisely where you need it
Image enhancements for specific areas are completed quickly and easily using intuitive operations, without the need for complicated tool selections and layers of masks. Using Capture NX 2’s original Selection Control Points feature, filter effects can be applied to either the designated area or to the entire image while excluding the selected area.

Available in two editions — Select or Complete
Nikon offers two editions to handle the widest range of needs - from beginner to professional. Color Efex Pro 3.0 for Capture NX 2 Select Edition offers 35 filters that meet the requirements of a broad spectrum of general users, while the Complete Edition comes with 52 filters to satisfy the demands of professional photographers. Beside this, the Complete Edition also provides more than 250 filter effects.

Powerful lineup of new and updated filters
Adding to the previous diversified lineup, Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0 for Capture NX 2 introduces nine new filters: Bleach Bypass, Cross Balance, Film Effects, Film Grain, Glamour Glow, High Key, Low Key, Polaroid Transfer and Tonal Enhancer. Moreover, conventional filters such as Classical Soft Focus, Darken/Lighten Center, Dynamic Skin Softener and Vignette have also been updated.

Operating systems
Color Efex Pro 3.0 for Capture NX 2 is compatible with Windows and Macintosh operating systems, including Vista and Leopard.
